Walk-In Public Shooting Hours

2011–2012 Regular/Winter Season
(Saturday, September 17, 2011, through Friday, May 18, 2012)

  • Monday — Closed
  • Tuesday — Closed
  • Wednesday — 5 to 7 p.m. (league shooting is from 7–10 p.m.)
  • Thursday — 5 to 9 p.m.
  • Friday — 12 to 2 p.m. (New this season!) AND 5 to 7 p.m. (league shooting is from 7–10 p.m.)
  • Saturday — 1 to 9 p.m. ** (see note below!)
  • Sunday — 1 to 9 p.m.

** Walk-in Public Shooting hours on the 4th Saturday of the month are from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. since Hunter Education Class use of the live-fire range is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on those days.

2012 Summer Season
(Wednesday, May 23, through Tuesday, July 31, 2012)

  • Monday - 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday - 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday - 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday - 12 Noon to 2 p.m. (New this season!) AND 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday - 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday - CLOSED
  • Sunday - CLOSED

Please note the range is used for hunter education shoots, school rifle team practice and matches, competitive shooting events, league shooting and firearm training and qualification outside of walk-in public shooting hours. Walk-in public shooting hours are established to the extent possible and open times are based on public survey information gathered periodically and other uses of the facility.


 Closures and Schedule Changes

MAY

  • SCHEDULE CHANGE - Friday, May 18 is the last day of walk-in public shooting hours for the 2011-2012 Regular/Winter Season.
  • SCHEDULE CHANGE - Saturday, May 19 walk-in public shooting hours are open from 1 to 7 p.m. only, and held in conjunction with the Annual Fish and Game Community Spring Fun Shoot (read article or visit the range during walk-in hours for details).
  • CLOSED - Sunday, May 20 through Tuesday, May 22, during the transition to the 2012 Summer Season at the range.
  • SCHEDULE CHANGE - Wednesday, May 23, is the start of the 2012 Summer Season at the range, with walk-in hours from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. and from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. that day.
  • CLOSED - Monday, May 28, for walk-in public shooting hours in observance of Memorial Day.

JUNE

  • SCHEDULE CHANGE - Tuesday, June 12, walk-in public shooting hours are from 4:30 to 8 p.m. (instead of 8:30 p.m.) since the live-fire range is reserved for hunter education class use from 8 to 10 p.m. that day.

JULY

  • CLOSED - Wednesday, July 4, for walk-in public shooting hours in observance of Independence Day.
  • SCHEDULE CHANGE - Tuesday, July 10, walk-in public shooting hours are from 4:30 to 8 p.m. (instead of 8:30 p.m.) since the live-fire range is reserved for hunter education class use from 8 to 10 p.m. that day.

AUGUST

  • CLOSED - Wednesday, August 1, through Friday, September 14, for walk-in public shooting hours during our annual summer closure for maintenance and cleaning.

SEPTEMBER

  • SCHEDULE CHANGE - Saturday, September 15, 2012, is the start of the 2012-2013 Regular/Winter Season at the range, when we reopen after the annual maintenance and cleaning closure. Walk-in hours will be announced prior to the beginning of the season.

Published hours do not include emergency closures and are subject to change from what is indicated. All attempts will be made to announce closures on the information line at (907) 452-6862 and on the web.


 More Information About Walk-In Public Shooting Hours:
Successful completion of the Range Orientation and Safety Briefing is required in order to use the live-fire range during walk-in public shooting hours. Orientations are given anytime during walk-in public shooting hours (as long as there is at least a half-hour left before closing) and Range ID cards ($5.00 cost) are issued to individuals who complete the orientation. Eye and ear protection is required and is available for sale or rent at the counter along with targets. You may share a lane with one other person. Firearms must be unloaded and cased when entering the facility.

  • Lane Per Hour $12.00
  • Pre-Paid Lane – 7 Hours $72.00
  • E-Range Per Hour $12.00

YOUTH, SENIORS, MILITARY
Youth must be under 18 years of age to qualify for the reduced rate
Seniors must be 60 years of age or older to qualify for the reduced rate
Military must be active duty with valid military ID to qualify for the reduced rate

  • Lane Per Hour $10.00
  • Pre-Paid Lane – 7 Hours $60.00
  • E-Range Per Hour $12.00
