Walk-In Public Shooting Hours
2011–2012 Regular/Winter Season
(Saturday, September 17, 2011, through Friday, May 18, 2012)
- Monday — Closed
- Tuesday — Closed
- Wednesday — 5 to 7 p.m. (league shooting is from 7–10 p.m.)
- Thursday — 5 to 9 p.m.
- Friday — 12 to 2 p.m. (New!) AND 5 to 7 p.m. (league shooting is from 7–10 p.m.)
- Saturday — 1 to 9 p.m. ** (see note below!)
- Sunday — 1 to 9 p.m.
** Walk-in Public Shooting hours on the 4th Saturday of the month are from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. since Hunter Education Class use of the live-fire range is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on those days.
Please note the range is used for hunter education shoots, school rifle team practice and matches, competitive shooting events, league shooting and firearm training and qualification outside of walk-in public shooting hours. Walk-in public shooting hours are established to the extent possible and open times are based on public survey information gathered periodically and other uses of the facility.
Closures and Schedule Changes
- SCHEDULE CHANGE, Saturday, January 14 - open from 1 to 4 p.m. only (closed 4-9 p.m.) since the annual AIM-COMM/Range banquet and volunteer recognition event is scheduled for this day.
- SCHEDULE CHANGE, Sunday, April 1, 2012 - Walk-in public shooting hours on this day will be from 1 to 4 and from 6 to 9 p.m. From 4 to 6 p.m., we will host the Alaska Grandma Safe Shootin' Challenge, final shoot!

More Information About Walk-In Public Shooting Hours:
Successful completion of the Range Orientation and Safety Briefing is required in order to use the live-fire range during walk-in public shooting hours. Orientations are given anytime during walk-in public shooting hours (as long as there is at least a half-hour left before closing) and Range ID cards ($5.00 cost) are issued to individuals who complete the orientation. Eye and ear protection is required and is available for sale or rent at the counter along with targets. You may share a lane with one other person. Firearms must be unloaded and cased when entering the facility.
