AIM-COMM's Hunter Education Division

AIM-COMM promotes hunter education and safety and supports hunter education related activities at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range (HEDR), and in Fairbanks, Alaska, and surrounding communities. AIM-COMM conducts hunter education related events and activities, like Alaska NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) events, on a regular basis.

ADF&G conducts official basic hunter education, bow hunter education, and basic muzzleloader education classes in Alaska. For information about ADF&G's Hunter Education Program and upcoming classes and clinics visit the www.huntereducation.alaska.gov.

Alaska NRA YHEC - How to register

Register now for the 2012 Alaska NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC)!

Cost: $25 per competitor
Pre-requisites: Be age eligible (see below) and have completed Basic Hunter Safety Education
Ages:
Junior Division: 14 years of age and younger before August 1 (of the event year)
Senior Division: 15 to 18 years of age* on August 1 (of the event year) or later
* Participants turning 19 years of age who are enrolled in high school for the full event school year are eligible to enter the Senior Division.

YHEC muzzleloader shooting practice event scheduled

Muzzleloader shooting is one of the eight challenge events of the Alaska NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge. The Alaska YHEC state championship is scheduled for June 1-3 (Fri-Sun), for 2012. A muzzleloader rifle shooting practice session is scheduled for those interested in participating in the Alaska YHEC. Details of the practice session are below:
